What is the importance of soldering fume extractor?

Soldering is an important process in the industrial and manufacturing sector. It is a process in which two or three metals are adjoined with the help of a filler metal by melting. This process discharges fume which is dangerous to breathe. The fumes that are released during the process contain fine particles that get suspended in air. When the fumes cool down, the fine particles get settled on the machine. Such tiny particles hinder the conditions of the machine and also affect the health of the workers who get exposed to them incessantly. With dust, mist, oil droplets, fumes circulating in the industrial environment, it becomes difficult for the employees as well as the machines to stay healthy.

Inhaling polluted air leads to major issues like skin irritation, eye irritation, lung infection, respiratory problems, asthma, and cancer. Such polluted environment makes the employees inactive and in worst cases makes them sick and leads to the regular absenteeism of the workforce. The fume and dust deposited on machines affect their efficiency and performance. All these issues lead to lower the productivity level and hence loss of revenue to the company is expected.

Therefore, industrial sectors need to adhere to safety measures for the benefit of the employees as well the machines. The Government has imposed strict rules on the company to adopt safety measures for the well-being of employees. Failure to implement safety measure would result in serious action against the organization. In order to resolve this issue, Powertech pollution controls have come up with optimum pollution control equipment which has effectively absorbed the fumes and dust from the working environment. The Soldering Fume Extractor by Powertech pollution controls PVT LTD absorbs the fume and releases purified clean air to the surrounding.

Soldering fume extractor- Benefits and features

The soldering fume extractor by Powertech pollution controls PVT LTD is designed with an electrostatic filter and a fan. The fume released during the soldering process is completely absorbed through a semi-rigid pipe. With the help of a high voltage electrostatic precipitate filter, the soldering fume extractor effectively absorbs submicron sized dust particle. The dust particles so absorbed gets attracted to the aluminum plate fitted with the filters. The aluminum filter in the soldering fume extractor could be cleaned easily and reused for the next filtration process. It is to be noted that the aluminum filters need to be cleaned frequently to maintain the same level of efficiency.

The soldering fume extractor can completely absorb all the fumes produced by wave soldering. There are different types of soldering fume extractors provided by Powertech pollution controls PVT LTD depending upon the convenience and requirement of the client. A wall-mountable soldering fume extractor is ideal for a smaller area. It occupies less space and hence is quite compactable and increases available space. A bench top Soldering Fume Extractor facilitates to work with ease. The soldering fume extractor is portable, cost-effective and convenient and hence makes it more popular in the manufacturing and industrial area.

Soldering is the process in which two or more metals are joined together by melting a filler material and making it flow through the joint. A chemical called flux is used as a cleaning agent that is used in combination with the solder to remove the oxidation from base and the filler metals. Unlike welding, soldering does not require melting of the base metals. The process of soldering is used in plumbing, making electronic components and in metal works from waterproofing to jewelry making.

As heating and melting is involved, generation of fumes is very obvious in the process of soldering. The flux used in the soldering process cleans the surfaces which are to be joined, it helps to increase the flow of the solder to produce good joint as well as it prevents oxidation of the base materials which may result in weakening the joint. The flux material usually used in soldering process contains rosins. Rosin is a naturally occurring resinous material which is obtained from pine trees and is in the solid state.

The fumes from the flux material that contain rosin are hazardous for health. Inhaling of these fumes results in asthma. If a person involved in soldering already have asthma, the fumes makes his conditions worst. These fumes cause irritation of eyes as well as upper respiratory tract, a sore throat, coughing and breathing difficulties. Apart from this these fumes also affect on skin of forearms, face and neck by causing irritation, itching and rashes.
